Our Lane Trace Assist System is designed to make motorway driving safer. It keeps you centred in your lane and if you start to drift from it, steering assist will gently steer your car to correct its course.
This system uses the Blind Spot Monitor radar to help prevent a collision between an occupant's opened door and a vehicle or cyclist approaching from behind. If there is a risk of a collision, indicators illuminate on the outer mirrors and multi-information display, together with an audible buzzer to alert occupants. *Available on Excel grade.
If the system detects no driver input for some time, audible warnings will alert the driver. If no further inputs are detected, the vehicle comes to a gradual stop while keeping it in lane. Hazard lights are activated to warn other road users, and doors are unlocked to allow emergency services easy access if required.
Prius Plug-In looks good from every angle, it catches the eye whether from across the street or gazed upon from a tall office building. The Skyview roof is visually continuous with the front and rear glass, emphasising the coupé-inspired style.
Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid cars both use the same proven Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive technology, but with a notable difference. Toyota Plug-in Hybrids feature a significantly higher capacity battery and a greater electric-only range – up to 53 miles* in the case of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid.
Plug-ins can also be charged from an external electricity source, such as a domestic socket, a dedicated wallbox or a public charger. While charging as often as possible will allow for maximum efficiency, Toyota Plug-in Hybrids run in Hybrid mode even when uncharged.
When in Hybrid mode, all Toyota Hybrids switch seamlessly between a combination of petrol and electric power, and electric power only, offering a high degree of flexibility, particularly on longer journeys.
Charging a plug-in hybrid is easy and you can charge whilst you are at home, or at a growing number of locations when travelling.
Fast (7kW to 22kW)
Much faster than a normal plug, dedicated EV chargers can be installed at home or found in many public and workplace car parks.
Slow (3.7kW)
You can even charge your vehicle through a domestic 3-pin plug socket which can be convenient although this is a slower way to charge.
Use Zap Map (Opens in new window) to find public charging stations on your route.
There are three methods of charging.
Wall box
Installing a dedicated cable and wall box to your home delivers optimum speed and safety, and provides the ability to return a full charge in 2.5 hours^.
Domestic home socket
Fully recharge overnight in around 6.5 hours^ and benefit from reduced charging costs if your electricity tariff is cheaper overnight or at off-peak hours.
Public chargers
Plug in to a charger accessible to the public. Just like with wall box units, the battery will be fully charged in around 2.5 hours^.
Every new Toyota comes with a 3 year manufacturer warranty followed by a 12 months / 10,000 miles additional warranty, with every qualifying service giving you a chance to relax in the knowledge that you and your vehicle are in safe hands.
