Over 40 Years of Toyota at the Dakar Rally

2024 marks the start of a new dawn for TOYOTA GAZOO Racing’s Dakar and W2RC team. Not only does the team have a new car, in the form of the GR DKR Hilux EVO T1U, but it also has some new faces in the driver line-up, with an emphasis on youth and potential.

The new car is 100 mm wider than its predecessor and incorporates several refinements. The suspension has seen specific attention and the air conditioning unit has been relocated for more efficiency. In addition, the car has been fitted with a new cooling package, allowing for greater redundancy. Toyota's focus on quality, durability and reliability was a key factor in the development of the new car. As such, TGR's crews completed nearly 30,000km of racing and testing.

“We will continue to make ever-better cars by traversing the wide variety of roads and terrains across the world.”

Akio Toyoda

Not just for sport

Tested in the harshest environments by the most dedicated professionals. From the desert dunes to city hills, the new Hilux pushes the limits in the pursuit of making ever better cars.
