The security of you and your car is important to us, which is why we have a number of advanced features on our new cars to keep your car as secure as possible.

Advanced security platform

We are committed to doing everything we can to keep our customers cars secure. All current production Toyota cars are built on an enhanced security platform developed to reduce the risk of car theft. Our security exceeds required standards by Thatcham, the UK’s only not-for-profit automotive risk intelligence organisation.

Industry approved alarm and immobiliser system

Approved by Thatcham, the majority of our new cars are fitted with category 1 alarm and immobiliser system as standard.

Motion sensor keys

Many new Toyota vehicles benefit from the inclusion of a motion sensor key. The key “goes to sleep” after a period of 4 minutes after being left unattended, thereby significantly reducing the risk of certain types of car theft.

How can I keep my car secure?

Keep your car locked and keys secure

Ensure your car is locked and your keys are secure at all times. Safeguard keys by keeping them hidden and out of plain view. If you own an older model, a small ‘faraday pouch’ kept on your person can help to further secure your keys.

Locate and secure your car remotely

If your vehicle supports connected services, the MyToyota App can assist you in locating your car using Find My Car. You can also be notified if your car is left unlocked, and secure it remotely.

We take the issue of car theft very seriously. We are continuously developing technical solutions to make our vehicles more secure to help reduce the risk of theft.

For existing models we are creating solutions that can offer enhanced protection to our customers. This includes the heavily discounted fitting of tracker devices to all model through our close partnership with Tracker™. Should a vehicle be stolen this ensures swift recovery of vehicles to disrupt criminal activity.
